Pamplona is a medium-sized city with approximately 200,000 inhabitants and at the top of the ranking of the best cities in Spain to live in. You won’t be disappointed by its first-class historical heritage, the city centre, replete with mediaeval churches, a great atmosphere and many green spaces.
The most comfortable way to get around is on foot, as the old town, where the main tourist attractions can be found, is mostly pedestrianised. There is also a 24-hour taxi service available, with different official stops around the city. Another option is cycling, as Pamplona boasts over 60 kilometres of cycle paths.
Although Pamplona is much more than the San Fermin festival, this is the event by which our city is internationally known. During 204 hours of foolish celebration (between 6 and 14 of July) you can live the thrill of the running of the bulls (encierros). 3-4 electrifying minutes once a day that you can enjoy from several points: from behind the fences, renting a balcony, sitting in the bullring or even running in front of the animals’ horns. But not only that, you can also enjoy the lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere that floods the streets or the shows and activities for all ages, you can find whatever you’re after during the festival.
