Visa
EU STUDENTS
Students who are nationals of any country belonging to the European Union do not need to apply for a visa to enter or reside in Spain, this exemption also applies to the performance of work activities.
NON EU STUDENTS
This permission or authorization should only be requested by students who enter Spain with a student visa and when their studies exceed 6 months. The situation of the foreign student is considered as a stay, never as a residence.

STUDENT VISA
In order to enter Spain as a student for people from non-EU countries, it is necessary to ask a student visa in the Spanish consulate of the country of origin. This visa is valid for 3 months.

Health care
If the student comes from one of the following countries, he or she will have free health care at public hospitals and health centres with European Health Insurance Card:
- Countries of the European Economic Area: Belgium, Denmark (except Greenland), France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Malta, Slovakia.
People from the United Kingdom (including Gibraltar) should ask their country’s health authorities about health coverage in Spain.
- Countries with which there is a Bilateral Agreement: Andorra, Brazil and Chile. With Peru, Morocco and Tunisia it is only envisaged for citizens of countries working in Spain and returning temporarily to their country (holidays, short stays, etc.). ).

- If the student comes from a country outside the European Union:
Private medical insurance is compulsory for any international student who needs a visa to study in Spain, i.e. students who are neither resident nor nationals of countries of the European Union, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
